Let me be honest with you. Growdash didn't start with a grand architectural vision. It started with restaurants that needed help and a team that moved fast to give it to them. We shipped features. We responded. We iterated. That's what startups do.
But technical debt is a quiet accumulator. And at some point, we looked at our codebase and realized: the thing slowing us down most was the thing we'd built. Our own product. The vision we wanted (an AI-native platform built from the ground up) simply couldn't live inside the infrastructure we had.
So we made the call. Rewrite. 95% from scratch. In 3 months.
01 / Meet Aisha, your AI Delivery Manager
I've been deep in the AI side of this build personally, and Aisha is the piece I'm most proud of. Not because she's a chatbot. Because she isn't.
Most AI products wait for you to ask them something. Aisha doesn't wait. She's already working: scanning performance numbers, spotting trends, flagging risks, and forming recommendations before you open your laptop in the morning.
What Aisha does:
Proactively surfaces business updates and performance shifts
Generates improvement suggestions and new strategies to test
Answers deep operational questions on demand
Produces reports with spreadsheets and slide decks, automatically
Runs root cause analysis when things go wrong
Automates recurring reporting so your team stops doing it manually
The goal was simple: give every restaurant operator access to the kind of analytical horsepower that only the biggest chains can afford to hire. Aisha is that.
02 / GrowIntel is now open to everyone
We built GrowIntel to help restaurants understand their delivery performance. For a while, it was exclusively for our clients. We made a decision with 3.0: open it up.
The restaurant industry has given us everything. It felt wrong to keep good tools behind a wall. If you're running a restaurant on any delivery platform, you can now access GrowIntel. No Growdash contract required. We want to contribute to the ecosystem that's made us relevant.
We also moved to a new home: growdash.ai
mygrowdash.com served us well. But we're a different company now. The new domain comes with a fully rebuilt landing page, free tools anyone can use, and a product that finally matches the ambition behind the name.
03 / We stopped neglecting ourselves
Here's a confession: we were so focused on helping restaurants operate better that we let our own operations get messy. Fragmented backoffice, scattered visibility, things that worked but didn't scale.
3.0 fixes that. We built a unified backoffice: one place to see everything, run everything, scale everything. The same operational clarity we preach to our clients, we now actually have ourselves. It only took three years and a complete rewrite to get there.
04 / Data architecture that actually holds
None of the AI works without clean, reliable, monitored data. One of the biggest investments in this rewrite was building a structured data pipeline, from the moment data is injected all the way through to what hits production.
This isn't the exciting part to talk about. But it's the part that makes everything else possible. Aisha is only as smart as the data she reasons over. We made sure that data is now something we can trust completely.
And while we were at it: we rebuilt the CI/CD pipelines, restructured the DevOps infrastructure, and redesigned the database schemas from scratch. The kind of foundational work that is invisible when done right, and painful when skipped. We didn't skip it this time.
05 / Five days in Istanbul that built 70% of 3.0
Big objectives need momentum. You can plan for months, but at some point you need to be in the same room, at the same table, solving things in real time.
So we ran a hackathon. Five days in Istanbul with the full tech team. Morning to late night, non-stop. Before we arrived, we had done the homework: visual designs, technical blueprints, pseudocode, architecture diagrams, countless calls and whiteboard sessions shared over screenshots. We showed up prepared.
And then reality hit, as it always does. Forgotten edge cases. Design gaps that only appeared when you tried to actually build the thing. Technical challenges that no blueprint could have predicted. We solved most of them on the spot, in the room, with brilliant minds bouncing off each other in real time.
5 days. Istanbul. ~70% of 3.0 built. The energy in that room was something I won't forget. That's what happens when a team believes in what they're building and decides to just go make it real.
The remaining 30% came in the weeks after, with clearer heads and the momentum of knowing we had already proven it could be done.
To the team: three months. 95% rebuilt. Shipped.
I want to say this clearly: what the Growdash engineering team pulled off is genuinely extraordinary. Three months. A near-complete rewrite. A new AI system. A new backoffice. A new data architecture. Rebuilt infrastructure. A five-day hackathon in Istanbul. A new public-facing product.
This isn't something you do by working normal hours. This is the kind of effort that comes from people who actually believe in what they're building. I'm lucky to be building with them.
Growdash 3.0 isn't just a new version. It's the company we always wanted to be, finally running on the infrastructure to prove it.
